Vaughan Sivell is an Award Winning Producer, Director and Writer. He runs Western Edge Pictures and the Gennaker Group, a suite of media finance companies based in Wales and London.
After establishing a successful TV writing and development career, Vaughan’s first feature film, THIRD STAR starring Benedict Cumberbatch, became a break-out hit in 2011 engaging passionate fans around the globe. After placing highly on the Brit-List, the script was also nominated for a BAFTA Cymru.
Vaughan then focused on growing his diverse production slate and establishing an independent finance base. WEP + Gennaker co-productions to date include; THE CANAL (Dir. Ivan Kavanagh) which premiered at Tribeca in 2014, multi-award winning short BALCONY (Dir. Toby Fell Holden) and PREVENGE (Dir. Alice Lowe) which opened Venice Critics Week in 2016.
In 2015 Vaughan made his directorial debut with MR CALZAGHE, an epic documentary about the Welsh Boxing legend. Financed by Gennaker, the film was released by eOne to fan and critical acclaim, and won three BAFTA Cymru awards including Best Director (Factual) and Special Achievement in Film Craft.
His follow up to this will be PISTORIUS, the story of the Paralympic and Olympic athlete and convicted murderer set against the political backdrop of South Africa. The film is represented by Content Media and set for release in 2017.
Vaughan is represented by Sean Gascoine at United Agents, who are key partners in the development of the Western Edge slate. In 2014, Western Edge Pictures were one of a small selection of companies to receive Company Support from Ffilm Cymru Wales.

Franki Goodwin spent the first part of her career running boutique film agency 'Franki&Jonny', who designed and built ground-breaking digital and content campaigns for the film industry. They won numerous awards including a BAFTA Interactive, and it was her work in this period that saw her recently named by the FWA as a 'digital pioneer'. Since then Franki has worked across numerous entertainment campaigns, and in 2016 won 9 Cannes Lions for the branded game 'Sea Hero Quest', that helps scientists research dementia.
As Exec Producer and CBO of Western Edge she is focusing her pioneering film campaign experience into a production role that allows her involvement over the life-span of a film to maximise their commercial potential. She has overseen in the audience development of Third Star, Mr Calzaghe and Prevenge, alongside development of her own titles as Producer, including INTERNET STORY and PHOTGRAPHIC MEMORY RECALLS THE HIGHLIGHTS OF THE YEAR.

Will Kane is a Producer at Western Edge Pictures. He heads up the day-to-day running of the company, production on our in-house projects as well as working with key talent across WEP’s diverse slate. He has a Bachelor’s degree in History and a Masters in Chinese from the University of Oxford. Prior to working in film he practiced as a banking lawyer at an international law firm.
Sean Richard is a Producer at Western Edge Pictures, currently focused on 'Pistorius' and development across the slate. He graduated in Film from Bournemouth University and previously worked for The Bureau Film Company as an assistant to Tristan Goligher and Bertrand Faivre, and on Oscar and BAFTA nominated film, 45 Years.
Tania Kenny is Head of Talent at Western Edge Pictures. Her role as the key point of contact for writers, actors and directors working with the company also extends to the research and development of literature, film and theatrical material; hand-picking and working with the creative teams in Development. With a Masters in Applied Theatre from Central School of Speech and Drama her exceptional career path from comedienne/actress and writer to a performance and development specialist has also seen her earn a PGC’s in Performance and Directing Text with Young People from The Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama.
Elisabeth Watts is our Production and Development Assistant at Western Edge Pictures. After graduating from Oxford with a degree in English Literature, she went on to attend a screenwriting course at NFTS. She joined the team in June 2016 and is key to all the logistical needs at WEP and the delivery of its projects.
