Vaughan Sivell is an Award Winning Producer, Director and Writer. He runs Western Edge Pictures and the Gennaker Group, a suite of media finance companies based in Wales and London.
After establishing a successful TV writing and development career, Vaughan’s first feature film, THIRD STAR starring Benedict Cumberbatch, became a break-out hit in 2011 engaging passionate fans around the globe. After placing highly on the Brit-List, the script was also was nominated for a BAFTA Cymru.
Vaughan then focused on growing his diverse production slate and establishing an independent finance base. WEP + Gennaker co-productions to date include; THE CANAL (Dir. Ivan Kavanagh) which premiered at Tribeca in 2014, multi-award winning short BALCONY (Dir. Toby Fell Holden) and PREVENGE (Dir. Alice Lowe) which opened Venice Critics Week in 2016.
In 2015 Vaughan made his directorial debut with MR CALZAGHE, an epic documentary about the Welsh Boxing legend. Financed by Gennaker, the film was released by eOne to fan and critical acclaim, and won three BAFTA Cymru awards including Best Director (Factual) and Special Achievement in Film Craft.
His follow up to this will be PISTORIUS, the story of the Paralympic and Olympic athlete and convicted murderer set against the political backdrop of South Africa. The film is represented by Content Media and set for release in 2017.
Vaughan is represented by Sean Gascoine at United Agents. Who are key partners in the development of the Western Edge slate. In 2014, Western Edge Pictures were one of a small selection of companies to receive Company Support from Ffilm Cymru Wales.

Franki Goodwin is a multi-disciplinary creative director and digital consultant to the entertainment and advertising industry. Since 2001 she has worked on campaigns for the UK’s leading Distributers, Financiers, Sales Agents, Cinemas and with independent productions. Her work covers movie posters, titles, film websites, immersive digital concepts, social media concepts and strategy, branding and user interface.
Her work has won numerous Cannes Lions, a BAFTA Interactive, FWA Sites of the Day, Adobe Sites of the Day and IAB Creative Showcase Awards. Her work has been featured in the D&AD Annual (with one Silver Nomination) as well as numerous design and technical publications. Two of her movie sites were featured in the best selling Taschen book ‘Guidelines for Online Success’.
She regularly contributes to panels and lecture series’ for Ffilm Cymru Wales, The Royal Television Society, The London Film Festival, Film London, Screen Training Ireland and EAVE covering subjects such as digital marketing, online distribution and branding.
As CBO at Western Edge she is focusing her pioneering film campaign experience into a production role that allows her involvement over the life-span of a film to create powerful digital marketing tools that extend the world of the film and generate the largest possible following for each title.

Mike Rattenbury is In-House Legal Counsel for Western Edge Pictures and The Gennaker Group. He is a qualified solicitor in England & Wales and has over ten years experience of corporate and commercial matters ranging from corporate finance to mergers and acquisitions. Will Kane is a Producer at Western Edge Pictures. He heads-up the day to day running of the company, production on our in-house projects as well as working with key talent across WEP’s diverse slate. He has a Bachelor’s degree in History and a Masters in Chinese from the University of Oxford. Prior to working in film he practiced as a banking lawyer at an international law firm.
Sean Richard is a Producer at Western Edge Pictures, currently focused on 'Pistorius' and development across the slate. He graduated in Film from Bournemouth University and previously worked for The Bureau Film Company as an assistant to Tristan Goligher and Bertrand Faivre, and on Oscar and BAFTA nominated film, 45 Years.
Tania Kenny is Head of Talent at Western Edge Pictures. Her role as the key point of contact for writers, actors and directors working with the company also extends to the research and development of literature, film and theatrical material; hand-picking and working with the creative teams in Development. With a Masters in Applied Theatre from Central School of Speech and Drama her exceptional career path from comedienne/actress and writer to a performance and development specialist has also seen her earn a PGC’s in Performance and Directing Text with Young People from The Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama.
Tom Betts is an Associate Producer at WEP. He is also the host of Cardiff’s long-running film night Chapter MovieMaker and the founder of Darkened Rooms – a series of screenings of classic films in unusual locations, rated by The Guardian to be one of the best pop-up cinemas in the UK. Tom’s role at WEP spans development, production and events.
Elisabeth Watts is our Production and Development Assistant at Western Edge Pictures. After graduating from Oxford with a degree in English Literature, she went on to attend a screenwriting course at NFTS. She joined the team in June 2016 and is key to all the logistical needs at WEP and the delivery of its projects.
